Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking an Environmental Services Floor Technician at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center in Rochester, NY. The position is full-time days, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with every-other weekend.

You will perform daily cleaning, operate floor care equipment, and help maintain a sanitary, safe environment across hospital areas. Prior housekeeping/floor care experience is preferred, with a friendly and positive attitude essential.

Responsibilities

• Daily Cleaning. Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas including, but not limited to: washing ceilings and walls; mopping hallways, stairwells and public areas; washing, waxing and/or vacuuming floors
• Equipment Management. Operate manual, battery-powered and electric equipment; use cleaning equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and scrubbers; clean and maintain equipment; monitor assigned areas and equipment for needed repairs and inform supervisor
• Waste Removal. Gather and dispose of garbage, waste, and soiled linen; remove trash in the prescribed manner

RESPONSIBILITIES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Heavy - This category includes physically intensive work such as lifting heavy materials (up to 100 lbs.), climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces. Employees must demonstrate strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment. High visual and auditory alertness is required, especially in areas with moving machinery. Emotional demands are moderate, focusing on hazard recognition, task accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Environmental exposures may include extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and periodic physical examinations are often required. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee's physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.

PAY RANGE

$17.25 - $19.89
