Job summary

Electrical Reliability Services, Inc. is looking for a qualified engineer to provide managerial and technical direction to Study and Integration Engineering teams. This role requires supervision of engineers, managing workflow, and maintaining project records.

The ideal candidate will possess a BSEE (MSEE preferred), a P.E. license, and experience in the Industrial Service Industry. Strong communication, organizational, and managerial skills are essential.

Travel may be required, and authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.

Job description

Provide business, managerial, and technical direction to all Study Engineering resources and all Integration Engineering resources. Serve as general supervisor for Study and Integration Engineers and Technicians, schedule workflow, act as customer contact and liaison, and maintain a record of job progress and financial details.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the sales, profit, and quality of the area operation.
• Review and sign contracts consistent with Limits of Authority.
• Work with the Region Director, Regional Sales Manager, and Marketing Services to promote new business.
• Develop Area Profit Plan using local committee and periodically review plan to ensure that Service Centers work is on track.
• Hold periodic management committee meetings to promote effective communication and review business progress.
• Work with staff to develop weekly invoicing and monthly status reports.
• Review and audit field jobs.
• Supervise safety and technical training of Engineers and Technicians.
• Perform employee performance reviews and recommend appropriate salary changes.
• Coordinate technical training for field personnel and assist with career development.
• Develop and maintain the corporate Engineering Study Manual to provide procedural and technical information to company study engineers.
• Review and recommend field technical procedures and procedure changes.
• Interview job applicants.
• Develop and review proposals, and review reports of field engineers.
• Supervisory responsibilities for 1+ Operations Supervisors and/or Supervising Engineers.

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer BSEE (MSEE preferred).
• Professional standing: P.E. license.
• Same or similar work experience in the Industrial Service Industry.
• High degree of communication, supervisory, organizational and management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with clients, peers, subordinates and management.
• Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, Internet research for standards/products/manufacturers and operation of computer-controlled test equipment.
• Willingness to do some overnight travel to cover field region and attend company meetings.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear; must sit and work at a computer. Specific vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Valid Driver’s License.
