Job summary

NTT DATA North America seeks an ERP Specialist Advisor in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois to lead SAP BASIS on migration projects and collaborate with Azure architects for AZURE-based SAP infrastructure. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior BASIS authority on the migration program — owning system architecture, sizing, and configuration decisions from a BASIS perspective.
• Perform core BASIS administration: installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, transport management, and performance tuning.
• Lead technical planning and execution of system copies, migrations, and cutover activities for ECC moving to Azure.
• Review and validate Azure infrastructure proposals to ensure SAP BASIS requirements and SAP-certified standards are met.
• Coordinate with Azure cloud architects to translate BASIS requirements into infrastructure asks.
• Support HANA installation activities and participate in verification for HANA-on-Azure setup.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across BASIS, OS, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Document BASIS architecture decisions, configurations, and migration runbooks.
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams for smooth transition.

We are currently seeking a ERP Specialist Advisor to join our team in Oakbrook, Illinois.

Job Info:

• Serve as the senior BASIS authority on the migration program — owning system architecture, sizing, and configuration decisions from a BASIS perspective
• Perform core BASIS administration: installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, transport management, and performance tuning

• Review and validate Azure infrastructure proposals (VM sizing, storage, networking) put forward by Azure architects, ensuring they meet SAP BASIS requirements and SAP-certified standards
• Coordinate closely with Azure cloud architects — translating BASIS requirements into infrastructure asks and vetting their recommendations, rather than designing Azure infrastructure independently
• Support HANA installation activities and contribute to verification/recommendations for HANA-on-Azure setup
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across BASIS, OS, database, and infrastructure layers
• Document BASIS architecture decisions, configurations, and migration runbooks
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to ensure smooth transition

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of hands‑on SAP BASIS experience, with demonstrated architecture‑level ownership (not just operational administration)
• 3+ working knowledge of Azure infrastructure concepts relevant to SAP (VM types, storage, networking) — sufficient to validate and challenge architect recommendations, not to design Azure infrastructure from scratch
• 2+ years knowledge of SAP HANA — able to support installation and participate in verification/recommendation activities for HANA on Azure

Preferred/Nice to Have:

• Formal Azure certification (e.g., Azure Fundamentals or SAP on Azure-specific certification)
• Deeper SAP HANA implementation experience
• Exposure to S/4HANA landscapes or conversion projects

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is 87.94 to 103.91 W2. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
