Job summary

Job description

Applies advanced IT professional concepts and campus / medical center / OP objectives to resolve highly complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Recommends and may select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

Under the direction of the ERP Technical Manager, ERP Security Administrator will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of application security administration support for Cloud ERP system, UCPath and the implementation of security for new Cloud ERP modules and bolt-on applications.

The position is responsible for monitoring system access, conducting security reviews, and supporting compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. It includes performing audits, investigating access issues, responding to security incidents, and driving continuous improvements in cloud application security through standardization, documentation, and adherence to best practices.

The Security Administrator will work closely with the development team to identify trends, potential system problems and resolutions, assessing business requirements, providing on‑going user audits across systems, troubleshooting system defects, conducting testing, and maintaining system configurations related to application security as required.

Must be flexible to handle multiple work assignments, changing priorities, and meet deadlines. The ERP Security Administrator must also possess excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; good communication, presentation and project management skills.

Department Overview

IT Financial Systems provides application and technical support for central administrative systems. The Cloud ERP Financial Applications consists of Fund Management (General Ledger and Asset Management), Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable, Purchasing and eProcurement) and Research Administration (Accounts Receivables, Billing, Project Costing, Grants, Contract) modules. IT Financial System supports the integration between UCSF and UCPath, UC systemwide HCM and Payroll System.

Key Responsibilities

75% of time

  • Managing the day to day security maintenance including
    • Creation and maintenance of user ID profiles for Cloud ERP and UCpath in a timely manner
    • Creation and maintenance of I Role based access control in Cloud ERP Financial System
  • Perform regular security review to identify separated employees, audit segregation of duties and system access to ensure access are appropriate based on Job responsibilities.
  • Standardize Cloud ERP security with new module or upgrades by conducting extensive analysis to identify any compatability issues
  • Assist in identifying gaps in security administration processes and procedures and recommend improvement, optimization and automation
  • Participate in Security testing for new modules and Cloud ERP upgrades & vendor releases.
  • Document Security setup and maintenance procedures including detailed step by step instructions
  • Provide training to Security Administration backup person on the security procedures and policies
  • Provide assistance to Access Administrators/Requestors on security questions related to Cloud ERP Financial System and UCPath
  • Actively participate in the rollouts relates to Cloud ERP Financial System, UCPath upgrades and disaster recovery testing
  • Other security administration duties as assigned.

25% of time

  • Validate ServiceNow Ticket Migration Readiness - to ensure every Enhancement/Change Ticket that is approved to go into production conform to the release control procedure
  • Coordinate with developers for ServiceNow Ticket migration related developer tasks
  • Stage development objects prior to handing off to Cloud ERP Administrator for migration to production
  • Issue Migration Request to the Campus Change-L
  • Coordinate with PS Admin for ServiceNow Ticket migration related DBA tasks.
  • Coordinate with Production Service Batch Team for ServiceNow Ticket migration related Production Services tasks.
  • Update ServiceNow Ticket Migration Status
  • Issue On and Off Cycle Release Notes to stakeholders
  • Attend Change Advisory Board meetings and inform Cloud ERP team on Changes tickets that could potentially impact Cloud ERP Systems and UCPath
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience in writing SQL or using SQL query tools
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively document technical problems and their solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
  • Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. Must be a team player
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with trouble ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, is a plus
  • Experience working with Cloud ERP Financial, HCM or other enterprise business application is a plus
  • ERP Security Administration expertise is desirable but not required. Preferably with Cloud ERP applications
