Job description

Assurant is embarking on a multi-year, multi-phase financial systems and process transformation program. The Accounts Receivable and Cash Management Functional Analyst will be a key Finance and Accounting resource supporting the implementation of a cloud ERP solution and related financial systems architecture.

The role involves using accounting skills to support Accounts Receivable and Cash Management functions in a new ERP platform, participating in implementation efforts, and supporting ongoing system management and enhancements. The analyst will focus on streamlining processes and leveraging the new systems platform for efficiency.

As new functionalities are integrated, the analyst will work with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and proactively mitigate risks.

Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Strategic:
  • Support design and implementation of best practices in Accounts Receivable and Cash Management within a cloud ERP solution.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve processes, considering global finance requirements.
  • Leverage accounting expertise to automate processes and reduce manual work, focusing on high-risk or inefficient areas.
  • Educate and engage process owners on solution capabilities and best practices.
  • Serve as a change agent for finance process improvements.
Tactical:
  • Promote adoption of delivered functionalities and resist unnecessary customizations.
  • Demonstrate how proposed solutions meet business goals to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, IT, and consultants to design, test, and support the financial systems platform.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, understanding and translating functional requirements.
  • Review issues, troubleshoot, and develop solutions.
  • Create and support communication and training activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables and escalate issues as needed.
  • Participate actively in team sessions.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least 5 years of financial accounting, auditing, and systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with automated Accounts Receivable and Cash Management solutions.
  • Oracle Cloud Receivables and Cash Management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of receivables management in insurance industry and multi-currency operations.
  • Change management skills.
  • Experience designing finance processes and workflows.
  • Strong influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to leverage technology for process improvements.
  • Adaptability, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Experience in insurance/financial services industry and transformation projects is a plus.
