About the role
We are building out a nationally recognized ERISA Litigation team for high‑stakes employee benefits disputes, including multimillion‑dollar breach of fiduciary duty class actions and plan termination litigation that will set new precedent. This is not a backfill position; it is a strategic expansion for a practice group that handles the most sophisticated ERISA matters in the country.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Take and defend depositions in complex fiduciary breach cases
- Draft dispositive motions and argue them in federal court
- Work directly with expert witnesses on damages and prudence issues
- Second‑chair trials and arbitrations with partners who trust you in the room
- Build expertise that makes you indispensable, not replaceable
What You Bring
- 2–6 years of litigation experience (ERISA background is a major plus, but we’ll train the right litigator)
- Excellent academic credentials and a track record of winning
- Strong writing skills and confidence to stand up in court
What You Get
- Top of Market Pay: Compensation on the leading national scale for elite litigation practices
- Real Responsibility: Direct partner mentorship without layers of bureaucracy
- Geographic Flexibility: Based in Washington, DC preferred, but we’re open to Atlanta, Dallas, or Chicago for the right candidate
- Meaningful Work: Handle cases that shape employee benefits law and affect millions of plan participants
