Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ, seeks an experienced EH&S specialist to lead ergonomics and safety programs. You will evaluate hazards, develop proactive strategies, and deliver training to promote safe behaviors across the site.

The role requires 5+ years in EH&S or a related field, with a degree (or an advanced degree) and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. A citizen is required; relocation support is not provided.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
  • Experience in EH&S.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Preferred: ergonomic evaluations in industrial/office settings.
  • Preferred: EJMS, CUSA or similar platforms.
  • Ability to obtain AEP or CPE certification within 2 years.
  • Ability to manage technical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Active Secret-level or higher security clearance.

  • Work under general direction, independently determining and developing solutions.
  • Contribute to completion of programs and projects with practical solutions.
  • Maintain and improve ergonomics programs to ensure EH&S compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent ergonomic injuries.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomics training and presentations.
  • Support site injury reduction and ergonomic goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employee compliance questions and safe behaviors.
  • Support OSHA injury investigations and root-cause analysis to identify corrective actions.
  • Interpret and apply regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC).
  • Analyze safety performance indicators to drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with teams to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Work under general direction, independently determining and developing solutions.
  • Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects with imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain and improve ergonomics programs to assure compliance with federal, state, local, and company EH&S requirements.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities for proactive strategies to prevent ergonomic injuries.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomics‑related training and presentations to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Support and implement site injury reduction and ergonomic goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employee compliance questions and influence safe behaviors.
  • Support first aid and OSHA injury investigations and root‑cause analysis to identify corrective actions and track to completion.
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC, and other applicable regulations and standards.
  • Analyze leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with individuals and teams across the business, organizing, prioritizing, and addressing multiple simultaneous projects or tasks.
Qualifications

Typically requires:

  • University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or
  • Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Experience in EH&S.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

We Prefer:

  • Experience with ergonomic evaluations in industrial and office settings.
  • Experience with EJMS, CUSA or similar platforms.
  • Ability to obtain Associate Ergonomics Professional (AEP), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), or equivalent certification within 2 years.
  • Ability to manage technical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Active Secret‑level or higher security clearance.
