Job summary

Animal Emergency Hospital in Burton, MI seeks a licensed veterinary technician to join our emergency team. You will perform IV catheter placement, monitor anesthesia, draw blood, run diagnostics, and assist with transfusions in fast-paced cases.

The ideal candidate holds an active Michigan LVT license, has 2+ years of LVT experience or 5+ years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed, and remains calm under pressure with strong math and patient care skills.

Qualifications

• Active license for Veterinary Technician in Michigan.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an LVT or 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed.
• Comfortable in-patient care and customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and medical math skills.

Responsibilities

• Place IV catheters.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals in critically ill cases.
• Draw blood and run diagnostics.
• Administer and monitor blood transfusions.
• Monitor feeding tubes and critically ill patients.
• Perform medical math and medication calculations.
