AmeriVet’s Animal Emergency Hospital in Burton, MI is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for our fast-paced ER team. Expect starting pay of $26+/hour plus a shift differential up to $5/hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. AAHA-accredited hospital with strong teamwork and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active license in Michigan as Veterinary Technician.
• Minimum 2 years’ LVT experience or 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed.
• Comfortable in-patient care and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Place IV catheters.
• Monitor anesthesia and vitals in critical patients.
• Draw blood and run diagnostics.
• Administer and monitor blood transfusions.
• Manage feeding tubes and critically ill patients.
• Perform medical math and dosage calculations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an LVT in our ER, you’ll be hands‑on with advanced, meaningful medicine every shift, including:

• Placement of IV catheters
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals on critically ill patients
• Drawing blood and running diagnostics
• Critical thinking in fast-paced emergency situations
• Administering and monitoring blood transfusions
• Managing feeding tubes and critically ill patients
• Performing accurate medical math and medication calculations

What We’re Looking For

• Active License for Veterinary Technician in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an LVT or minimum of 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed
• Comfortable and confident in-patient care and customer service
• Strong attention to detail and excellent medical math skills
• Calm under pressure with a team-first mindset
• Willingness to rotate overnights, weekends, and holidays
