Job summary

Animal Emergency Hospital in Burton, MI seeks a licensed veterinary technician to join our emergency team. You will perform IV catheter placement, monitor anesthesia, draw blood, run diagnostics, and assist with transfusions in fast-paced cases.

The ideal candidate holds an active Michigan LVT license, has 2+ years of LVT experience or 5+ years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed, and remains calm under pressure with strong math and patient care skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an LVT or 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed.
• Comfortable in-patient care and customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and medical math skills.

Sign‑On Bonus $5000. Starting Pay: $26 and up based on experience. Shift Differential Offered: up to an extra $5 per hour! AAHA Accredited.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Placement of IV catheters
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals on critically ill patients
• Drawing blood and running diagnostics
• Critical thinking in fast-paced emergency situations
• Administering and monitoring blood transfusions
• Managing feeding tubes and critically ill patients
• Performing accurate medical math and medication calculations

What We’re Looking For

• Active License for Veterinary Technician in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an LVT or minimum of 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed
• Comfortable and confident in-patient care and customer service
• Strong attention to detail and excellent medical math skills
• Calm under pressure with a team-first mindset
• Willingness to rotate overnights, weekends, and holidays
