Veterinary Assistant – Emergency (Swing Shift)
Location: Concord, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Wed–Sat | 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Compensation: $25 – $32/hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency Department Swing Shift team. This role is best suited for a seasoned VA who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting and enjoys working closely with an elite team of ER doctors and specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with triagingincoming patients and managingflow throughout the ER
- Assist DVMs and RVT’s with patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
- Calculate and administer medications via IV and other routes
- Obtain and process lab samples (blood, urine, fluids, aspirates)
- Assist with imaging (X-ray, ultrasound)
- Gather patient history, take vitals, and communicate with clients clearly and compassionately

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience (ER experience strongly preferred)
- Strong venipuncture, catheter placement, and medication administration skills
- Solid understanding of emergency protocols and patient care
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
