Zusammenfassung

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced ER team in Carmel, IN. You will support DVMs, monitor hospitalized patients, and assist with anesthesia while delivering clear client guidance and compassionate care.

The role requires prior veterinary experience and a licensed technician is preferred. We value teamwork, reliable hours, and the ability to adapt to shifts in a demanding environment where every case is unique.

Qualifikationen

• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
