Job summary

Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center in Winchester, VA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for ER/critical care. This full-time position offers a pay range of $20–$22 per hour and requires three 12-hour shifts. Experience with emergency cases is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with animals, preferably in an emergency and specialty hospital.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Properly restrain animals.
• Obtain a thorough history from pet owner.
• Measure and record weight and vitals.
• Assist in anesthesia induction and pre-op prep.
• Prepare surgical packs and set up OR areas.
• Maintain interdepartmental communications regarding patient care.
