Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is hiring an Emergency Veterinarian to provide high-quality care across open, 24/7 ER hospitals. You will be part of a mentorship-forward team, handle a wide range of emergencies, including exotic cases, and advance your career through VEG Education programs and continuous learning opportunities.

You will manage cases from triage to treatment, work with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to a compassionate patient- and family-centered experience for clients

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Experience in emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy, is essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients immediately as part of VEG triage teams.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam findings.
• Perform physical exams and required diagnostics (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies).
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options to clients.
• Prepare estimates and present them to clients.
• Maintain and review medical records for accuracy.
• Explain the value of tests and treatments to clients.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries.
• Perform endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention.
