Job summary

Standiford Veterinary Center offers an Emergency Veterinarian Mentorship Program for new graduates and GP veterinarians transitioning into emergency medicine. This is a true training program, not a sink-or-swim ER role.

The program focuses on structured one-on-one mentorship, guided case management, and soft tissue emergency surgery training, with regular topic rounds. Work is team-based, supportive, and designed for growth, with salary of $130,000–$200,000 total compensation.

Qualifications

• DVM degree and State Veterinary Board License in good standing.
• Interest in emergency and surgical medicine.
• Willingness to participate in structured mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured one-on-one mentorship and weekly case reviews.
• Gain hands-on emergency case experience with real-time support.
• Develop proficiency in soft tissue emergency surgery including GDVs, C-sections, exploratory surgeries, and wound management.
