Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department to support seamless patient care and nurse communication. The role is per diem and involves indirect patient care, documentation, and coordination of unit supplies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS within 6 months of hire, and comfort with basic computer and word processing tasks. Experience with medical terminology is preferred, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely chart

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for all new hires.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
• Experience using computers for word processing, database management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the communication needs of the Emergency Department.
• Transcribes physician orders from records in the absence of CPOE/EMR, with nursing staff notation.
• Prepares and completes each patient’s chart for necessary forms daily.
• Orders supplies for the unit and assists with charting as needed.
