Qualifications

• Direct patient flow and administrative support in a hospital setting.
• Proficient in clinical terminology and hospital computer systems (Epic).
• Experience with clerical tasks and scheduling in outpatient departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to nursing staff and perform computer, clerical, scheduling, and supply functions for the department.
• Receives and greets visitors, patients and staff, and directs questions to appropriate staff.
• Answer phone calls promptly and courteously; coordinate with physicians and other departments for admissions.
• Run errands, deliver specimens and paperwork, and sort mail for unit operations.
• Keep nurses informed of incoming reports, new orders and other messages.
• Transcribe physician and nursing orders accurately and timely into Epic.
• Assemble and organize the medical record for patient admissions and discharge paperwork.
• Enter discharge information into the system and coordinate chart completion.
• Maintain and order unit clerical supplies and report equipment issues.
