Job summary

Highpoint Health Sumner is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join the Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room in a PRN night role. You will deliver high-quality care to patients with traumatic injuries and medical emergencies in a 24-bed ER ranked #2 in Lifepoint Health.

The role emphasizes assessment, triage, collaboration with physicians and teams, and precise documentation in the EMR. Requires TN licensure and a nursing degree, with current BLS; ACLS/PALS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee or Multi-State RN licensure.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
• BLS certification current upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and critical conditions, including trauma and medical emergencies.
• Quickly assess patient conditions, prioritize care based on severity, and initiate interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Administer life-sustaining treatments and interventions for trauma patients, including wound care and emergencies.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team for seamless care delivery.
• Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care in the EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines to ensure safety and compliance.
