Qualifications

• Experience in medical field and/or EMS background preferred.
• BLS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient and family information and files ER chart.
• Performs order entry, charges, and reprinting of orders.
• Assists in admitting process in absence of registrar.
• Restocks ER supplies and prepares orders for central stores.
• Performs ER skills such as vital signs, EKGs, dressings, oxygen setup, finger-stick glucose tests.
• Performs phlebotomy as directed by RN.
• Ensures room readiness and facilitates communication between patient, family and care team.
• Transports patients and maintains log books and charts.
• Maintains clean ED environment and supports staff during high volume periods.
