St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking an Emergency Technician to support the ER team under RN supervision. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, maintain equipment, and assist with clerical operations to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include vitals, specimen collection, EKGs and phlebotomy, trauma support, and coordination of diagnostic procedures. Minimum qualifications include HS diploma and BLS; EMT or MA certification or in nursing school final

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Certification required.
• EMT certification or Medical Assistant certification, or final year of nursing program.
• Prior Emergency Tech experience preferred.

• Assist with procedures including specimen collection, ostomy care, glucose monitoring, and use of orthopedic or protective devices.
• Obtain and record vital signs, assist with patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility support.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy procedures.
• Communicate patient status and concerns to the RN promptly.
• Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures, tests, and consultations.
• Participate in trauma calls and work with the interdisciplinary team during emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Emergency Technician

Position Purpose

The Emergency Technician functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to support the delivery of high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. This role assists the healthcare team by providing direct and indirect patient care, maintaining equipment and supplies, and supporting clinical and clerical operations.

As an Emergency Technician, you will:

• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with RN/LPN direction, physician orders, and established policies
• Assist with procedures including specimen collection, ostomy care, glucose monitoring, and application of orthopedic or protective devices
• Obtain and record vital signs, assist with patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility support
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy procedures accurately
• Communicate patient status and concerns to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner
• Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures, tests, and consultations
• Participate in trauma calls and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members during emergencies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• EMT certification or Medical Assistant certification OR is within the final year of a nursing school program
• Prior Emergency Technician experience preferred
