Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is seeking an ER Technician to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas. You will take vital signs, collect specimens, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting at the Zarzamora facility in San Antonio, TX.

The role requires BLS and often ACLS/PALS, with IV start, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation experience preferred. Fluency in English and alignment with hospital policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; various pathways with EMT/paramedic or nursing study are acceptable.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
• Current ACLS/ALS certification required in most markets; exceptions noted for select markets.
• Current PALS certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG is strongly preferred.
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
• For certain markets (PA, OK, TX, etc.) additional clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies and COLA/CLIA.
• Assist with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse/plan of care.
• Provide superficial wound care and patient safety measures.
• Maintain patient privacy and a clean, safe environment with proper aseptic technique.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations or procedures; assist with treatments.
• Travel to all facility locations as required; attend meetings; perform additional duties as assigned.
