Job summary

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine, Ingalls Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Room (ED) Technician at our Harvey, Illinois location. The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Emergency Room.

The ERT must demonstrate the expertise and competency of all paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maintain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Maintain applicable certifications/licensures.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and assist patients without direct supervision.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff and the public.
• Ability to adjust work schedules based on department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist and augment registered nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Room.
• Support patient care activities and communicate effectively with the team.
• Demonstrate competency of paramedic skills in accordance with state law.
