Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking an ER Tech to support the Emergency Department with specimen collection, point-of-care testing, vital signs, and patient transport. You will assist RNs and physicians with exams and procedures, and help maintain accurate ER documentation.

The role requires ELIGIBILITY: High School diploma or equivalent, CNA or EMT-B certification, and CPR through the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA or EMT-B certification required.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens including urine, stool and sputum.
• Perform laboratory tests such as phlebotomy and urine pregnancy tests.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform 12 lead EKGs and monitor cardiac patients.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges and transfers; transport patients and equipment.
• Maintain ER logs and charts; update records as information becomes available.
