Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks an Emergency Room Technician (ERT) to support the ED team at East Bank University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. The ERT assists nurses, transports patients and supplies, and prepares rooms while adapting care to patient age and needs.

Schedule features 0.70 FTE with 8-hour evening shifts (3pm–11:30pm) and alternating weekends. Required certifications include EMT/ERT or CNA with related clinical experience. Benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Current EMT or ERT certification or equivalent credential required.
• Active Paramedic certification or CNA MN Registry credential accepted.
• Enrolled in an LPN, RN, or NP program with clinical progress.
• Minimum six months of recent hands-on patient care experience.
• Completion of Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant training recommended.
• LPN licensure is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by wheelchair and cart.
• Assists patients with ambulation and positioning.
• Informs RN of patient/family observations and concerns.
• Prompts response to patient call lights/requests.
• Maintains patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Assists in resuscitation and acts as nurse extender.
• Documents care activities clearly and promptly.
• Maintains and restocks rooms, supplies, and carts.
• Performs quality control checks on equipment.

Education

EMT or ERT certification

CNA on MN Registry

Enrolled in LPN/RN/NP program

Six months hands-on patient care experience
