Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months patient care experience in a health care delivery setting.
• Certification as an EMT, paramedic, medical assistant (MA), or certified nursing assistant (CNA).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care, assisting nursing and physician staff.
• Inventory and restock emergency department equipment.
• Collect and transport specimens (urine, blood, cultures).
• Assist with admission and discharge, start/stop IV lines, prepare rooms between patients.
• Monitor patients, provide wound care, assist with procedures.
• Record observations in the patient medical record.
• Communicate patient care needs and changes to staff.
