Job summary

Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA, seeks an ER Tech to assist ED nurses and physicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and maintaining an organized, well-supplied department. Candidates will use AIDET with patients and families, accurately record vital signs, and perform 12-lead EKGs, while safely transporting patients and supporting ADLs.

Applicants should have at least one year of direct patient care in emergency settings, EKG experience, and current BLS-CPR certification

Qualifications

• One year of direct patient care in an emergency department, ambulance, fire or emergent pre-hospital setting.
• BLS/CPR certification through American Heart Association.
• Emergency Medical Technician: CA (EMT-CA) certification.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Basic (NREMT-B) certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes AIDET to communicate with patients and families.
• Reports and documents all care rendered and changes in patient condition.
• Maintains adequate equipment and supplies; transports patients to diagnostic exams.
• Acts as unit coordinator providing clerical support and rapid response coordination.
