Job summary

Williamson Health seeks an ER Tech Unit Secretary for full-time night shifts to support patient care and data collection in a fast-paced emergency setting.

The role requires EMT or substantial patient care experience, a high school diploma, and BLS completion within 90 days. Certification in NVCI within 6 months is required, with ongoing bi-annual renewals. Excellent English communication and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

  • EMT or at least one year of patient care experience preferred.

  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) initial certification within 6 months of employment; certification required bi-annually.
  • Emergency Patient Care Delivery.
  • Pocket Masks; Sphygmomanometer; Dinamap; Electronic Thermometers; Pneumatic Tube System; Telemetry; Nurse Call System; Fax; Network Computer System; EMS Radio; EKG; AT&T Language Line.
  • Emergency Department with patient population ranging from less than one year of age to 99 years of age.
  • Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
  • Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • To implement, communicate, and assist with assessment and data collection in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists with data collection and patient care as directed by the nurse.
  • Maintains work areas and personal appearance reflecting professionalism and safety.
  • Collaborates with health care team members to coordinate timely patient care.
  • Assists with treatments, procedures and equipment as directed by policy and competency assessments.
  • Organizes assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Documents accurately and timely.
  • Maintains a healing and therapeutic environment for patient and family.
  • Handles/transports medications and solutions safely per hospital policies.
