Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines is seeking an ER Tech to support the Emergency Department by providing direct patient care, phlebotomy, and EKGs across age groups from neonate to geriatric. This role strengthens the clinical team and improves patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include assisting triage, stocking, transporting patients, maintaining room cleanliness, and performing routine duties to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist triage nursing by taking vitals and rooming patients.
• Stock daily supplies and prepare areas for the next patient.
• Assist EMS arrivals and transport patients within the hospital.
• Support clinicians, coordinate communications with departments.
• Clean rooms, change linens, and dispose of used equipment.
• Provide patient hygiene assistance and hourly rounding.
