Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking an ER Tech / Patient Care Tech to support the Emergency Department team with direct patient care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and age-appropriate procedures. The role requires strong teamwork and the ability to coordinate care across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certified within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision in the ED.
• Performs phlebotomy functions and EKGs as assigned.
• Assists with patient transport, rooming, and ancillary tasks.
• Facilitates communication between nursing, physicians and other departments.
• Cleans rooms and prepares for the next patient, including vitals and basic care.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

1-2 years healthcare experience

BLS certification within 6 weeks
