Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Dearborn (Fairlane Medical Center) is hiring an Emergency Room Technical Assistant for a 36-hour shift. You will assist RNs and Providers with assessments, procedures and patient care under supervision, and help maintain ER readiness and safety.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and BCLS certification; prior ED tech or Medical Assistant experience is preferred, with EMT license preferable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs and Providers with assessments, examinations and treatments as requested.
• Prepare and assist Providers with procedures such as suturing and casts.
• Assist patients as needed.
• Recognize potential life-threatening dysrhythmias and abnormal vital signs and report to RN/Provider.
• Maintain safety, documentation and cleanliness in the ER; transport patients and supplies.

Education

High School diploma or GED

BCLS certification

Emergency Department Technician/Medical Assistant experience (preferred)

EMT license preferred
