Job summary

Qualified candidates typically hold a High School diploma or GED and must meet CNA/EMT/CPCT/A or equivalent certification requirements. The position is full-time with day shifts and on-site work in Tampa, Florida.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/EMT/CPCT/A/NHA CMA or other listed certificates preferred or required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Rounds with previous shift staff to receive report on care given to patients.
• Delivers care using the mission, vision, and value statements, incorporating patient-centric behaviors daily.
• Promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Provides care to patients in accordance with standards of care, including assistance with hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living.
• Maintains patient skin integrity by turning and repositioning patients, preventing skin shearing, and notifying nurses of skin breakdown.
• Performs various medical procedures and specimen collection as ordered (e.g., phlebotomy, dressing changes, IV care).
• Documents patient care according to policy, including intake and output, vital signs, weights, and specimen collection.
• Transports patients and equipment within scheduled timeframes and assists in positioning and mobility with safety.
• Supports nutritional needs of patients by providing liquids, assisting with meal setup, and feeding within restrictions.
• Introduces self to patient, explains role, and uses preferred name.
• Follows hospital policy for patient identification and universal precautions and maintains a clean environment.
