Job summary

The North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, TN is seeking an ER Technician to support the Emergency Department under licensed nursing supervision. Qualifications

• Technical School completion of Nursing Assistant, EMT, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assistant courses required
• Certified Nursing Assistant, certified Basic EMT, certified Phlebotomist, or certified Medical Assistant preferred
• 0-1 years of clinical experience required

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the emergency department under supervision and guidance
• Assists with patient transport to units or discharge destinations ensuring safety and timeliness
• Maintains a clean, organized environment and restocks supplies per infection control standards
• Communicates with patients, families and care team; reports changes promptly
• Documents patient care in the EMR accurately and efficiently
• Responds to emergencies, assisting the care team to ensure patient safety
• Uses PPE and adheres to safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Performs clerical tasks and supports unit operations as needed
• Collaborates with ancillary services and external agencies to facilitate care
