Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Chicago, IL seeks an unlicensed, part-time Emergency Department Technician to assist with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks under RN supervision.

Requirements include a High School diploma, EMT certification or CNA if state requires, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months acute care experience. Day shift with rotating weekends; competitive benefits.

Department: Emergemcy Unit

Scheduled: Part-Time, Day 12-hour shift/ Rotating Weekends

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
