Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and unit.

This unlicensed, non-certified role requires a High School Diploma, EMT or CNA as appropriate by state, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of Medical Terminology, and 6 months acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT Certification or CNA as required by state.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

Department: Emergency Unit

Scheduled: Full-TIme, Day 12-Hour Shift/ Rotating Weekends

Hospital: St. Mary of Nazareth

Location: Chicago, IL 60622

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68.
