Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Full-time ECG Technologist with Paramedic/EMT experience for a 12-hour night shift (7p–7a). The role includes obtaining and transmitting ECGs, verifying orders, and ensuring accurate patient data while coordinating with ED physicians.

Minimum qualifications include HS Diploma or GED and EMT/Paramedic training; IV experience and computer skills are required or preferred. ACLS/BLS/PALS may be required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to cross-train as Unit Secretary.
• Experience as Paramedic/EMT required; IV experience necessary.
• Computer experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technique and lead placement for high-quality ECG studies.

• Transmits ECG data to the management system.
• Identifies high-priority rhythms and communicates with ED physicians.
• Performs patient information gathering and ensures developmental considerations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proper technique and lead placement for performing a quality ECG study.
• Verifies order is placed into computer.
• Acquires ECG assuring all patient demographics are entered and correct.
• Edits ECG s (ie correct patient s name, MR#, room #).
• Transmits from the ECG cart to the data management system.
• Identifies high priority rhythms and complexes and delivers ECG to ED MD for interpretation
• Demonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient s needs.
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of growth and development.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify high priority patients to the triage nurse, based on pre determined criteria.
• Monitors the waiting room and identifies patient in need for re-assessment by the triage nurse, based on pre determined criteria.
• Recognizes and responds to monitor alarms and/or changes in patient cardiac rhythm, and assures that RN or charge nurse is notified and aware.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required
• Certificate from Paramedic and/or EMT School is preferred.
• Willingness to cross train as Unit Secretary
• Previous experience working as a Paramedic and/or EMT is required. Experience with starting IVs is necessary
• Computer experience

Licensures/Certifications

• Paramedic and/or ER Tech License preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS require
