Job summary

Beacon Veterinary Specialists in Fremont, CA is seeking experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) to join our Emergency & Critical Care team. This 24/7 hospital offers Level 2 and Level 3 ER RVT opportunities with flexible schedules (3x12 and 4x10, weekday only).

Qualified candidates will have an active California RVT license, at least three years in an emergency setting, and strong patient handling and critical care skills. Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Active California RVT license
• Minimum 3 years in an emergency veterinary hospital
• Skilled in patient handling and restraint
• Strong technical and communication skills
• RECOVER BLS/ALS certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Level 2 ER RVTs perform procedures like chest tube maintenance and tracheostomy tube maintenance.
• Monitor patients up to ASA level 4 and respond to shock and respiratory failure.
• Administer treatments such as hypertonic saline, lipids/hetastarch, and chemotherapy.
• Perform advanced procedures like jugular cath/PICC line placement and cystocentesis.
• Lead CPR drug administration and EKG/monitoring and support critical care.
• Oversee complex cases and mentor junior staff.
