Job summary

MercyOne Emergency Room is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our ER team in Iowa. You will provide professional nursing care across age groups, using the nursing process, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

This weekend shift role offers 36 hours per week with a weekend differential. Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current RN license in Iowa, with BCLS required and ACLS/PALS recommended.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Skilled in post-operative care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Ongoing continuing education in nursing, appropriate to clinical assignments.
BCLS certification at the healthcare provider level required.
ACLS and PALS certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary team to promote and restore health.
Execute care plans as prescribed, adhering to guidelines.
Educate patients on medications, procedures, and discharge plans.
Maintain patient confidentiality and respect autonomy and rights.
Provide leadership and supervise others in delivering nursing care.
Maintain competencies through education and quality initiatives.
Adhere to high safety standards and participate in process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
