Job summary

Methodist Healthcare in Texas seeks a PRN Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care. The RN collaborates with providers and the care team, ensures accurate documentation, and educates patients and families on conditions and treatment plans.

Required to maintain Texas RN licensure (compact endorsement may be needed) and certifications including ACLS/BCLS, TNCC, and crisis intervention. Travel between facilities is 75% of the role.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BCLS required within specified windows
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and TNCC required within defined timeframes
• RN licensure in Texas (compact endorsement where applicable)
• RN Diploma/Associate/Bachelor degree required or equivalent
• PALS or pediatric life support certification preferred or required within deadlines

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the ED
• Collaborate with medical staff and care team to provide comprehensive care
• Document care accurately in the medical record and follow up on patient needs
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up steps
• Ensure patients and families understand medications, plans, and self-management post-discharge
• Travel between facilities as needed per job requirements
