Job summary

Medical City Decatur, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an RN ED PRN to coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in a busy Emergency Department. In collaboration with providers, the RN offers individualized care using established nursing models and advocates for patients and families.

The RN educates patients and families about conditions, plans, medications, and follow-up care, while ensuring timely documentation and support within the care team.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of start date
• RN Registered Nurse
• Trauma Care certification within 18 months
• 1 year of experience required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in the ED
• Assess pain regularly and manage pain with reassessments
• Document care in the patient record in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan, medications and follow-up
• Assist with non-medical follow-up like lifestyle changes and self-management
