Job summary

Nutex Health is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN/Part-time position in Jackson, Mississippi. The RN will assess patients, triage, provide emergency care across all ages, administer medications, supervise staff, advocate for patients, collaborate with clinicians, maintain infection control, and pursue ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Two years of emergency room experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners for their state.
• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred.
• Educational requirements appropriate for meeting the age-specific needs of patients presenting to the emergency center, including neonates to geriatrics.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly upon arrival including head-to-toe and psychosocial evaluations.
• Perform triage to prioritize care based on urgency.
• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages following protocols.
• Administer medications accurately per the five rights.
• Supervise support staff to ensure efficient workflow.
• Advise and educate patients and families about procedures and plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team on care plans.
• Maintain infection control and a safe patient environment.
• Engage in ongoing education and quality improvement activities.
