Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks an Emergency Department RN (ER RN/ES-RN) for variable shifts, including 7:00am–7:00pm, 11:00am–11:00pm, or 1:00pm–1:00am. The role is PRN or Per Diem in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities include rapid, skilled ER care; requires current AL RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC within specified windows, and arrhythmia interpretation. Industry professionals with ICU/CCU/ED experience encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival and triage by severity using standardized protocols.
• Provide direct care including medications, wound care, monitoring vital signs, and pain management.
• Assist with life-saving interventions in severe illness or trauma (ACLS, PALS, trauma care).
• Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations while caring for multiple patients.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
