Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

on a 36-hour weekly schedule, with weekends and holiday rotation. New graduates may be considered and a robust nurse residency program supports transition into ED practice. Qualified candidates will have RN licensure, BSN/MSN preferred, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license is required.
• BSN or MSN preferred; new grads may be considered.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; NIHSS, TNCC, CEN, PALS, ACLS preferred.
• ED experience preferred; acute/critical care experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Apply clinical knowledge with sound judgment while maintaining professional ethics and communication.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.
