Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is hiring an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care during night shifts. You will apply critical thinking, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and monitor patients from admission to discharge.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree, an active SC or compact RN license, BLS certification, and TNCC preferred. This is a regular, full-time position with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current SC or compact-state RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• TNCC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, identify clinical priorities, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate care addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective care.
• Lead and support team members, promoting teamwork and a healthy work environment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education, health promotion, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while protecting privacy and dignity.
• Practice with accountability, autonomy, and strong critical-thinking skills.
• Participate in governance, peer review, and professional development initiatives.
