Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Chester, SC. This role provides comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care during fast-paced shifts, using the nursing process to guide clinical decisions.

You will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and work with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care. BLS is required; TNCC is preferred; SC RN license is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina (or compact-state) RN license required.
• Current American Heart Association (BLS) certification required.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, identify priorities, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care while addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care.
• Lead and support other team members, promoting teamwork and a healthy work environment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education, health promotion and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and protect patient privacy and dignity.
• Practice with accountability, autonomy, professional judgment and critical thinking.
• Participate in shared governance and initiatives that promote clinical excellence.
