LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care alongside the care team, using established nursing models, and supports patients and families throughout the care journey.

The role emphasizes pain management, timely documentation, proactive patient advocacy, and patient education on conditions, treatments, and self-management strategies.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN license (Registered Nurse) required.
• Bachelor's or Associate Degree in nursing or related field.
• PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after intervention.
• Document the administration of care in the medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up.
• Discuss non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, and self-management.
