Job summary

Jackson Parish Hospital invites applications for a full-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process to support patient health progression.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, administering IV medications, and coordinating care across admission, transfer, and discharge stages while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of patients and communicate changes to the supervisor and physician.
• Plan and coordinate care for patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Direct supervision and delegation of LPN/LVN, CNA, and Ward Clerks.
• Administer intravenous medications and blood products as per scope of practice.
• Identify and resolve admission, transfer, and discharge needs during care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Communicate with Charge Nurse and DON on changing patient needs.
• Advocate for patients to help inform healthcare decisions.
