Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current RN VA license or compact multistate license.
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Required 1 year of emergency room experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the ER.
• Assist with procedures, monitor patients, and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
• Educate patients on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
