Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in Boone, NC. Join a mission-driven team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED setting.

The role requires a current NC RN license (or compact state), BLS, ACLS and PALS within 12 months, and prior RN experience. The position offers three 12-hour shifts per week, a non-exempt status, and a comprehensive benefits package including retirement, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and wellness

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current North Carolina RN license or a compact state license.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS and PALS within 12 months of hire.
• Previous RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the nursing process to guide patient care.
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Safely administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team for optimal outcomes.
• Document accurately in the EMR and adhere to standards.
