Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at the Olathe Hospital. You will apply the nursing process to coordinate care, provide safe and therapeutic treatment, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs throughout the continuum of care.

You will lead in clinical reasoning, ensure patient safety, and participate in ongoing professional development while adhering to Kansas Nurse Practice Act guidelines

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Kansas or compact license.
• CPR/BLS required; additional unit-specific certifications may be required.
• BSN may be required by some units for hires after Sept 1, 2026; ADN-to-BSN agreement may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to medication safety policies and correct administration practices.
• Answers calls, triages patient care, and assesses patient needs.
• Coordinates health care services with hospital teams and delegates tasks appropriately.
