Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is hiring a Staff Nurse for the Adult Emergency Department. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated patient group, with a written care plan that includes education and discharge planning.

The 60-bed ED handles acute and urgent care across a broad acuity range, with a Level 1 trauma designation. This full-time-adjacent part-time 0.50 FTE position requires day shifts and every-other-weekend

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• AHA BLS required before end of orientation period
• Penn State Hershey requires RN hires after July 1, 2015 to enroll in a BSN within one year and complete within four years

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients.
• Develop written plan of nursing care including education and discharge planning.
• Document care given and patient progress; collaborate with medical staff on patient care.
